SpellCraft: Love Illumination Potion

It’s as certain as the turning tides that some starry-eyed spirit will beseech me for a love potion when the season of hearts draws near. I usually proffer a gentle explanation that love does not dance to such tunes. Sure as shooting, the love that already exists can be cast into the limelight, but one cannot evanesce love on someone overnight! Now, this concoction I’ve brewed, coupled with an enchantment, is crafted with the purpose to unveil to the imbiber the love that already basks in their horizon. The strides they could take to immerse themselves in this love.

Dubbed “Love Illumination,” this brew is intended to ignite the drinker’s senses, helping them see and understand the love permeating the air and vibes around them .

We’ve got homegrown treats including lavender and rosemary from the garden, a spoon of zesty dried ginger, calming chamomile, and sultry cloves. A spoonful of honey from our local bees and a dash of lime bring a balanced sweetness and tang to the brew. All of this, simmered slowly with clear quartz and rose quartz.

With the potion playfully pirouetting on the hob, we weave the below incantation into the swirls of steam, inhaling the scents. We meditate, setting our sights and hearts aflutter, exploring the realms of love that dwell in us and gravitate around us like celestial bodies abound in the cosmos.

Twirled among the shards of clarity brought about by the rosemary and tangy lime, the other ingredients will serenade the heartstrings, focused on love itself. But this time, we set aside traditional invocations of Aphrodite and Venus, which are associated with creating new love. And instead unearth a more profound emotion – a love that has always been there, quietly existing beneath the surface.

For this quest, we earnestly call upon the wisdom of Hekate. As the goddess of crossroads, we implore her to light the path and guide us through choices, illuminating the treasure of love that is already within us.

Hekate guides, her torch aflame,
Through night’s Veil, in all love’s name.

Whispers of heart, in silence caught,
Show me to love, as Eros taught.

Winds and paths, choices twine,
In Love’s grasp, let mine shine.
